P1.3M worth of shabu seized in Navotas

Police arrested two high-value drug personalities and seized P1.3 million worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Navotas City on Monday night.

PLt. Col. Renato Castillo, chief of the District Drug Enforcement Unit of the Northern Police District (DDEU-NPD), identified the suspects as Ramon Tan, 55; and Norilyn Santiago, 47, both residents of the said city.

Operatives conducted the sting around 6:20 in the evening at Santiago’s house where a poseur buyer was able to transact P7,500 worth of shabu with the suspects.

After accepting the marked money from the undercover agent in exchange for a medium size transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu, the operatives immediately handcuffed the two suspects.

Seized from the suspects are approximately 205 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of P1,394,000, buy-bust money and a handbag.

The suspects are now facing charges of violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
