Rody: Prison? It’s Munti for me!

Former president Rodrigo Duterte took a swipe anew at the International Criminal Court (ICC) over its dogged determination to prosecute him over his administration’s anti-illegal drugs campaign.

Duterte spoke to the press for the first time since his term ended on 30 June after visiting the wake of former President Fidel V. Ramos at the Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig City on Thursday afternoon.

“I am a Filipino. If I will be prosecuted, it will be [by] a prosecutor who is Filipino. If I have to be judged, it will be [by] a Filipino judge. If I [should] go to prison, I should go to Muntinlupa,” he added.

As of 31 May, a total of 6,252 drug suspects were killed in anti-drug operations, according to government statistics.
