The Solicitor General has formed a special task force to study the implications of the arbitral award in favor of the heirs of the Sulu Sultanate on the Sabah issue.
“I have constituted a special task force to study any wider implications of the arbitral award,” said Guevarra in a text message.
“We’ve begun collating reference materials for our study, but this task will require a lot of manhours to complete.”
Guevarra had been asked if his office will look into the contentious case which has rocked Malaysia after the Sulu royal family won $14.9 billion worth of overseas assets of oil company Petronas as settlement over a colonial-era agreement on Sabah.
