‘Get into sports, stay away from illegal drugs,’ says Bong Go to Davaoeños

Sen. Bong Go visited and personally checked on the situation of struggling communities in Davao City on Friday, 5 August.

Select individuals were given bicycles and balls for volleyball and basketball as part of the senator’s advocacy to strengthen sports development in the country.

“Isa sa adbokasiya ko ngayon ay maenganyo ang kabataan na magbasketball at volleyball. Pakiusap ko lang sa inyo ‘wag ninyo pabayaan ang mga bata. Get into sports, stay away from drugs. Ating ipagpapatuloy ang kampanya ni (dating) presidente Rodrigo Roa Duterte na labanan ang iligal na droga,” urged Go in his speech.

Go likewise personally spearheaded three separate relief operations at the respective gymnasiums of Barangays Kapitan Tomas Monteverde, Agdao Proper, and Paciano Bangoy, where a total of 1,500 struggling residents received relief items, such as grocery packs, shirts, vitamins, masks, and meals.

Some residents also received new pairs of shoes, mobile phones, and watches.

Go also continued to advocate for stronger government interventions to help more underprivileged Filipinos deal with the ongoing global health crisis.
