Former Philippine National Police (PNP) officer-in-charge Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. has been reassigned as head of the Area Police Command (APC) Western Mindanao.
Danao’s reassignment followed a massive reorganization of the police force.
On Tuesday, PNP chief Gen. Rodolfo Jr. ordered the reshuffle involving more than 80 ranking officials, including the top three posts of the force’s command group.
Danao was replaced as deputy chief for operations — the PNP’s No. 3 man — by Maj. Gen. Benjamin Santos.
Lt. Gen. Jose Chiquito Malayo was named to PNP’s No. 2 post — deputy chief for administration vice Lt. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia who was reassigned to the APC Visayas.
Maj. Gen. Arthur Bisnar left his post as chief of the Directorate for Human Resource and Doctrine Development to serve as chief of the directorial staff, the PNP’s fourth top post, replacing Malayo.
