Angeles free circumcision benefits boys

ANGELES CITY — The local government’s free circumcision program has benefitted 3,228 Angeleño boys aged 10 and above as part of Angeles City’s health care program, according to Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr.

The program — dubbed as “Magpatuli para Pogi” program — was conducted at the six Rural Health Units (RHU) from 4 to 28 July 2022 supervised by Mayor Carmelo Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel with City Health Officer Dr. Verona Guevarra and Gender and Development (GAD) Officer Mina Cabiles.

Launched by Lazatin, the program aims to cater to the needs of Angeleños, especially the indigents.

Out of the 3,228, 351 kids had their free circumcision in RHU 1; 837 in RHU 2; 443 in RHU 3; 545 in RHU 4; 407 in RHU 5; and 655 in RHU 6.

The said beneficiaries also received their aftercare kits.

Thirty midwives, nurses and doctors from CHO and Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center headed by Dr. Froilan Canlas had led the operation tuli. The GAD office also served as the support staff.
