The Philippine Navy (PN)’s missile frigate BRP Antonio Luna (FF-151) is now sailing home following a remarkable participation in the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2022, the world’s largest naval exercise.
The BRP Antonio Luna (FF-151), carrying the Naval Task Group (NTG) 80.5, departed Hawaii heading to Guam on Sunday, after a month-long United States-led RIMPAC war-at-sea exercises that began on 29 June and ended on 4 August.
Navy spokesperson Commander Benjo Negranza said the Filipino community in Hawaii — along with Capt. Aldrin Doctor, Armed Forces of the Philippines liaison officer in the United States — gave the ship a rousing send-off.
This would be the country’s third participation in RIMPAC with this year’s theme, dubbed “Capable, Adaptive Partners” — following its maiden participation in 2018 and its sophomore run in 2020.
