A policeman who was on the high-value target list of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) was arrested in a buy bust operation in Ocampo, Camarines Sur, last Sunday.
PDEA Regional Office V Regional Director Gil Pabilonia identified the suspect as Police Master Sgt. Romeo Penolio Jr., 43, of Barangay Pinit.
It was around 7:30 pm when the suspect was arrested by the joint forces of the PDEA Camarines Sur Provincial Office and the Philippine National Police.
According to the police, the operation against the suspect was launched after receiving information about Penolio’s illegal activities.
Several pieces of plastic sachets containing 10 grams of shabu, buy-bust money, 2 cellphones, a motorcycle, a 9mm Glock-17 pistol and various drug paraphernalia were recovered from the suspect.
Penolio is now facing charges of violation of RA 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
