Bogus cops were kidnappers

Two men who pretended to be police officers were arrested for kidnapping two young men in Malolos, Bulacan, Tuesday night.

The two fake policemen were identified as Reggie Chico Garcia, 32, factory worker of Brgy. Tikay and Angelo Roque Asistin, 27, shoe repairman of Brgy. Bankal.

The victims were identified as Mark John Contridas Butal, 23, and Ronel Rabina Artiaga, 24, both singles and residents of Brgy. Mabolo.

It was around 8:50 pm when the incident took plabe in Brgy. Sto. Niño.

The suspects stopped the two victims on a motorcycle and took the rider’s license.

The victims were advised by the self-identified police officers to follow them to their station so they followed them.

When they got to the dark place, the suspects suddenly stopped, pointed an ice pick at them and forcibly took their money, cellphones, belongings and quickly ran away.

The victims sought help from real policemen who immediately responded to the area until they arrested the two suspects in Brgy. San Juan.
Recovered from the suspects were Oppo A5 cellphone, wallet with IDs, ATM card, P7,000, sling and belt bag with ice picks.

The suspects are now facing charges of robbery and usurpation of authority and currently detained at the said station.
