TARLAC CITY — Various government agencies are eyeing to provide assistance to former rebels who recently surrendered to the fold by setting up livelihood programs in the province.
According to 3rd Mechanize (Makatarungan) Battalion Civil Military Operations Officer 1st Lieutenant Jefferson Tungpalan revealed that the agencies include the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Agrarian Reform and Department of Trade and Industry in Tarlac.
The assistance is part of an agreement between the 3rd Mechanized Battalion and government agencies and Tungpalan said that the benefits that these ex-rebels received are under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program.
Meantime, 3rd Mechanized Battalion acting commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Jeszer Bautista stressed that giving enough attention and prioritizing giving jobs and livelihoods to former member of KLG-TARZAM is one of many ways to show the sincerity of the government to give them another chance to start a normal life with their family.
