Pagunsan posts Top 20 finish

Juvic Pagunsan posted a Top 20 finish following a
one-under-par 71 in the International Series Singapore at the Tanah Merah Country Club’s Tampines course in Singapore Sunday.

The 44-year-old Filipino found the going tough coming home but birdied 18 to finish the 72-hole event on 6-under 282, eight shots behind champion Gavin Green of the United States.

Pagunsan opened with eight pars in a row before knocking in his first birdie on 9.

He also birdied 10 but dropped consecutive shots on 12 and 13.

After a birdie on 13, he again bogeyed 14 before his final hole birdie.

Pagunsan tied for 19th spot with Peter Uihlein (70), Dodge Kemmer (70), Kieran Vincent (70), and Todd Sinnott (70).

Miguel Tabuena, the other Filipino who made the cut, turned in a 73 after starting his round with a double bogey.

He countered two more bogeys with three birdies.

Green went bogey-free while collecting seven birdies to post a 65 and a three-shot victory over Thai Phachara Khongwatmai who had a bogey-less 66.

Indian Veer Ahlawat and Korean Seo Yoseop tied for third on 10-under after identical 65s.

Sharing fifth on 9-under were Steve Lewton (68) and Nitithorn Thippong (67).
