The local currency finished flat against the US dollar after touching the 56-level at mid-day on 16 August.
The peso ended the day little changed against the US dollar at 55.83 from 55.825 on 14 August.
It opened the day at 55.95, weaker than its 55.72 start in the previous session.
It traded between 55.82 and 56.1, resulting in an average of 55.966.
Volume reached $1.02 billion, higher than the previous day’s $896.6 million, a trader said.
