India eyes closer ties with Phl

Indian Ambassador to the Philippines Shambhu Kumaran on Monday evening said that they are looking forward to working with the Marcos administration.

In an ambush interview, Ambassador Kumaran said that President Marcos and India Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a phone conversation where the two leaders are looking forward to having a close engagement.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President (Ferdinand) Marcos had a conversation, and that conversation is very substantive. They talked about developmental imperatives of the Philippines,” Kumaran said.

“The Prime Minister has expressed his support for the administration, and India will be a partner for the Philippines. We at the Embassy are looking forward very much to support this closer engagement on health, agriculture, and areas of priorities for the Philippines,” he added.
