Swift resolution on teener’s death sought

Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando on Tuesday has issued an ultimatum to the Bulacan Philippine National Police to resolve the death of a 15-year-old girl who was found dead in a grassy area in Bustos, Bulacan.

The Bulacan governor stressed that the Bulacan PNP has only 48 hours to solve the crime, which saw the death of the victim identified as Princess Marie Dumantay.

The girl was found lifeless along the Bypass Road in Bonga Menor.

Initial investigations showed that the victim’ body bore cigarette burns on her arms, bruises and strangulation marks.

On 14 August, the victim’s father, Ronaldo Dumantay, positively identified the Grade 9 victim who was reported missing since 9 August 2022.

Dumantay also signed the consent to undergo an autopsy on the body of Princess Marie, who are scheduled to take the remains to their house in Navotas City which her family agreed to do after the examination.
