Sen. Nancy Binay is the latest lawmaker to catch Covid-19.
“After more than two years of consciously observing all protocols to avoid the virus, it is unfortunate that yesterday (18 August), I tested positive for Covid-19,” Binay said.
“My family and I are asking for your continued prayers for me and my colleagues in the Senate for our full recovery. As always, prayer is our first line of defense,” she said.
Binay is the sixth senator to have contracted the highly-contagious respiratory disease.
Senators Joel Villanueva and JV Ejercito on 18 August confirmed they are likewise Covid-positive.
At least seven senators have caught the virus this month.
