3 men shot dead in Antipolo

Three men were killed and a woman was wounded in a shooting incident at Lantion Compound along Road 28, Bagong Nayon in Antipolo City, the police said yesterday.

The police said the incident happened close to midnight Monday. Two of the fatalities were identified as John Albert Padasay and Francis Labuta. The other man who was shot dead remained unidentified as of press time.

One Evangeline de Jesus was also rushed to a hospital after a stray bullet hit her on the back.

The police said that based on their investigation, Padasay was able to run after the initial volley of gunfire, but the suspect chased him down before shooting him in the head.

Closed-circuit television footage was being reviewed by police probers to identify the gunman.

In Taguig City, a man wanted for murder was arrested by the police in a manhunt operation. The suspect was identified as Aries Calla, 30, tagged as the third most wanted person within the jurisdiction of the National Capital Region Police Office and the No.1 most wanted by the Southern Police District.

Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 69 Judge Loralie Cruz-Datahan issued the arrest warrant against Calla.

Also collared Monday during an “Oplan Galugad” in Sitio Imelda, Barangay Upper Bicutan, Taguig was Gilbert Santiago, 46, an alleged member of the
Busa-Fernandez criminal gang.

Santiago fell in a
buy-bust operation. He yielded a plastic sachet of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P36,244.

In Pasay City, Marlon Alandra, 30, was arrested for carnapping.
