A total of 211 families, comprising 643 individuals, were moved to five evacuation centers in Barangay Bagong Silangan in Quezon City following the heavy rainfall caused by tropical storm “Florita” last Tuesday.
The QC local government took the residents to centers at the Barangay Bagong Silangan isolation building, Barangay Bagong Silangan Elementary School and Sulyap Pag-asa Multipurpose Hall
An additional 14 families were moved to Bona Subdivision Multipurpose Hall, while nine more were housed at the Bagong Silangan High School.
Meanwhile, a tree fell on three houses on Monday night in Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City as heavy rain fell caused by tropical storm “Florita.”
Luckily, no one was hurt in the incident.
The affected families are presently staying with their relatives. They were advised by the QC Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office not to return to their homes until the tree has been removed.
Earlier, the QC LGU suspended classes from preschool to secondary level due to inclement weather.
