Lufthansa Technik Philippines hangar opens

Bureau of Customs-Port of NAIA District Collector Carmelita M. Talusan attended the official opening of Lufthansa Technik’s Hangar 1A last 19 August, as part of the Bureau’s efforts to encourage foreign investments in the nation.

Elmar Lutter, president of Lufthansa Technik Philippines, and Rainer Janke, vice president of marketing and sales, officially opened Hangar 1A to the public. Also present during the event were Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Alfredo E. Pascual, Department of Transportation Secretary Jaime J. Bautista, Albay Rep. Joey S. Salceda, Manila International Airport Authority General Manager Cesar Chiong, Philippines Airlines President and COO Stanley K. Ng, MacroAsia President and COO Eduardo T. Luy, PAL Holdings VP Lucio Tan III and other members of the aviation community.

Lutter said that the new flagship hangar would promote local aviation, tourism expansion and the creation of new employment prospects. He also emphasized his desire to expand LTP’s operations in the Philippines.

Talusan said the BOC-NAIA recognizes and supports LTP’s Philippine operations as a world-class investment that would bring in additional investments and employment opportunities for the country.

She added that the Port of NAIA will continue to support the growth of the aviation industry in the country, thus promoting the nation as an aeronautical hub in Asia.
