‘We are correcting mistakes’ — Tulfo

The Department of Social Welfare and Development has forged an agreement with the Department of the Interior and Local Government on Wednesday in a bid to resolve the recent incident during the distribution of cash assistances in different DSWD offices.

DSWD Secretary Erwin Tulfo said that they are taking responsibility on the chaos that occurred on Saturday where there were some misunderstandings on the provision of educational assistance.

He also said that he understands the negative comments they are receiving on social media and admitted to their faults.

“I was a journalist once, so that’s their right, they can bash until they want, no problem, we really made a mistake,” said Tulfo.

“If we were bashed because of the fact that we did mistakes, then we just have to suck it up, and move on that’s right, if you fall down, stand up and drive on and you learn from that mistake,” he added.

Tulfo also expressed gratitude to online bashers, saying that he is taking it as a sign to correct their mistakes.

“Thank you to those who bashed, I saw your messages, I treat that and I look at it to correct what we did, that’s why DSWD is here with DILG because We are correcting our mistake,” Tulfo said.
