Apalit academic building inaugurated

APALIT, Pampanga — The provincial government has inaugurated the Academic Building 1 at the Don Honorio Ventura State University Apalit Campus here.

According to Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda, the academic building consisted of 12 classrooms, a computer laboratory, and a kitchen laboratory, adding that the construction is through the efforts of the provincial government and the local government of Apalit led by Mayor Oscar Tetangco Jr.

Aside from the 1.2-hectare land donated by Tetangco, the provincial government also allotted P25-million to fund for the construction.

Tetangco said that the Academic Building 2 is now at 84 percent complete, alongside with the construction of a P10-million gymnasium.

DHVSU president Enrique Baking said that with the completion of these structures, the school can accommodate 5,000 students.

Tetangco, on the other hand, said that the LGU will allot P4-million every year for the operational costs of the university.

Currently, there are 1,522 students enrolled in four courses available at the university. These courses are Bachelor of Science in Information Technology; Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management; Bachelor of Elementary Education; and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Marketing.
