The Philippine Rallycross (PHRX) Series honored the winners of the 2021 Rallycross Season during an awards night held at the Two Bott’s Resto Bar Co., in Southwoods Ecocentrum in Biñan, Laguna, recently. The awarding ceremony finally took place after being postponed numerous times due to the pandemic.
Staged mainly on a special laid-out dirt track at the Clark Global City in Pampanga, the 2021 Rallycross Series was held over 12 rounds that flagged off in March 2021. However, due to the unexpected lockdowns and IATF restrictions, the 2021 season dragged on until the following year with the final round being run in April 2022.
PHRX organizers Olson Camacho, Ronnie Trinidad, and Eggay Quesada led the awarding ceremony which was attended by the Rallycross participants. Awards were handed out to champions of the Series from Groups 1, 2, 3, 4, Open, UV, AWD, RWD, Novice Class and Ladies Class.
Here are the winners: Group 1 — JP Polintan, third place; Choy Mabunay, second place; and Noli Tinio, first place; Group 2 — Paul Santos, third place; Steve Acayan, second place; and Louie Camacho, first place; Group 3 — Paul Santos, third place; Steve Acayan, second place; and Louie Camacho, first place; Group 4 — Alex Gonzales, third place; Paul Santos, second place; and Steve Acayan, first place; Open Class — Mon Dimapilis, third place; Dindo de Jesus, second place; and Patrick Ng, first place; UV Class — Allan Sarmiento, third place; Mon Dimapilis, second place; and Patrick Ng, first place; All-Wheel Drive Class — Allan Sarmiento, third place; Mon Dimapilis, second place; and Patrick Ng, first place; Rear Wheel Drive Class — EZ Ligaya, third place; Jun Magno, second place; and Dindo de Jesus, first place; Ladies Class — Pauline Barrenchea, third place; Elysse Menorca, second place; Kathy Villar, first place.
The Novice Driver Award was given to Daniel Urian. While special and fun awards were also handed out to the other participants.
