A scavenging man was killed Sunday night after he was dragged by a train of the Philippine National Railways in Tondo, Manila.
Witnesses can only identify the fatality as someone they used to call “master,” about 45 years old according to a police estimate. The accident happened at about 6 p.m. at the PNR tracks near Yuseco Street.
The man was walking along the track when he suddenly tried to cross into the other side of the railway as a southbound train passed by. The victim was mutilated with body parts thrown meters from each other.
Some residents said the man was known to have a mental problem and that he has no known relative in the area. His remains were brought to the Cruz Funeral Home for safekeeping.
