Senator Imee Marcos on Wednesday denounced the deaths of a town police chief and his security aide-slash-driver who were killed in an ambush in Maguindanao on 30 August.
“We condemn in the strongest terms the murder of one of our most gallant and brilliant police officers and his fellow law enforcer, only one day after we celebrated National Heroes’ Day,” Marcos said in a statement.
“No stone can remain unturned, no effort can be spared to find and punish the perpetrators of this heinous crime,” she added.
Ampatuan town police chief Lieutenant Reynaldo Samson and his security aide-slash-driver, Corporal Salipudin Endab, who were killed in an ambush while they were on their way to serve a warrant of arrest on a robbery suspect in the village of Kapinpilan last Tuesday.
Three of Samson’s men — M/Sgt. Renante Quinilayo and corporals Rogelio dela Cuesta and Marc Clint Dayaday — were also wounded in the ambush.
The Philippine National Police said the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters under Guipar Abdulkarim, alias Commander Boy Jacket, was responsible for the attack.
