MPD allowance release ordered

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna has announced the release of the P2,000 monthly allowance for officials and members of the 5,000-strong Manila Police District.

City administrator Bernie Ang said the necessary documents had already been signed to facilitate the release of the funds.

Lacuna said police officers who help keep the peace in the city are among those who are benefitting from the private sector support the city government has been getting.

“We are focused on the regular stakeholders with whom we are regularly talking. As President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has said, there should be public-private sector partnerships to achieve our goals,” she said.

“It’s our hope that those in the private sector will continue supporting in terms of helping provide patrol cars, SWAT vehicles and the like,” the mayor added.

Lacuna thanked the MPD for the orderly first day of the face-to-face classes in Manila.

Meanwhile, fisherfolks who own boats in Navotas City started receiving fuel subsidies from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources.

The fuel subsidies are redeemable at Shell, Sea Oil and Petron.

Mayor John Rey Tiangco reminded fishermen to follow the guidelines in using their fuel discount cards and subsidies to avoid being disqualified from the program.
