One-day operation nets 388 most wanted

The National Capital Region Police Office arrested more than a fourth of individuals on its most wanted list in a one-time, big-time operation on Tuesday, 30 August.

A total of 388 arrest warrants were served that day, accounting for 27.48 percent of those who are wanted. The NCRPO still has to serve 6,511 more warrants to those who remain at large.

P/Brig. Gen. Jonnel Estomo, NCRPO acting regional director, ordered the operation.

Those who are the targets of the operations are wanted individuals involved in illegal drugs, loose firearms, terrorism, heinous crimes and all other forms of crimes.

A total of 1,501 tracker teams were dispatched around Metro Manila on this day to trace those who are wanted.

Estomo said, “We are still far from completing it to a hundred percent, but nevertheless, we will continue to track down, search, and conduct surveillance operations with an effort to arrest these wanted criminals who are on the run.”

“We will not rest until we put the last wanted person behind bars and make them answer for the atrocities they committed,” he added.

The NCRPO official encourages the public to report to the nearest police station should they see any suspicious persons in their areas.
