KADAMAY members denounce CPP-NPA

The Philippine Army bared the operations of the communist front organization Kalipunan ng Damayang Mahihirap is now receding after its members withdrew support to the red fighters in Bulacan province.

Some 47 KADAMAY members denounced the atrocities and killings of innocents perpetrated by the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army.

The former CPP-NPA front members staged a ceremonial withdrawal of support at the covered court of Barangay Siling Bata, Pandi Bulacan on 16 September, as witnessed by various government line agencies involved in the anti-insurgency task force.

Following the burning of CTG and Kadamay flags, the surrenderees took an oath to fully support the government in its peace and security efforts in the province.

Upon their withdrawal of support, the returnees will get pooled assistance for their fresh start, which will be given by various member agencies of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict.

They will be likewise enrolled in a Security and Exchange Commission-registered association for former rebel supporters called SAMAKKA, facilitated by the government to ensure relevant assistance will be provided.

Through the SAMAKKA association, the government targets to improve the lives of the rebel returnees and former red supporters, turning them into productive members of the community.

The Bulacan’s SAMAKKA members are now managing a 500,000 pesos worth of water refilling station located in Villa Lois, Pandi town.

The Northern Luzon Command through its 1st Civil Relations Group also handed over some 55 pieces of donated blue galloons from the Armed Forces and Police Savings and Loans Association Inc. and the Philippine Army Finance Center Producers Integrated Cooperative, which they can use for their water refilling business.
