ZAMBOANGA CITY — The Police Regional Office for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao has started to adopt the necessary modifications to uphold the law and guarantee peace and order in the two Maguindanao provinces.
PRO-BAR director Police Brig Gen. John Gano Guyguyon stressed that they will adopt new measures to ensure the peace and security of the people in the two provinces and will continue to intensify law enforcement operations while Maguindanao undergoes its transition period.
Among the measures they are now studying include the identification and location of the new Police Provincial Office in del Norte, development of the organizational structure for each of the new Police Provincial Offices and the absorption of subordinate Municipal Police Stations and Provincial Mobile Force Companies following the National Police Commission’s directives for the establishment of the two provinces.
With all the adjustments, Maguindanao Police Provincial Office will still be the overall in charge on the peace and order situation of the whole of Maguindanao until such time that a new Police Provincial Office in del Norte will be established.
Guyguyon said that the PRO-BAR is prepared to take whatever steps necessary for the formal establishment of two provinces and assures the public that regardless of the changes.
The Bangsamoro police force will also continue to enforce the law and maintain public order and security in the Bangsamoro Region.
