AAOC prods MIAA on NAIA 3 maintenance

The ASEAN Airline Operators Council has asked the Manila International Airport Authority to take measures to avoid a recurrence of the seven-hour power outage at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3.

According to the AAOC, airport equipment should be subjected to management and regular maintenance, particularly the generator sets and x-ray machines.

The group decried an alleged lack of planning the electric load distribution at NAIA 3 that reportedly triggered the power outage.

AAOC also recommended the proactive replacement of airport equipment and not to wait for them to break down before installing new ones.

It added that procuring and installing airport equipment take time, thus they must be part of regular maintenance schedules.
