Youth box squad Spain-bound

The Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines is sending a six-man team to the 2022 World Youth Boxing Championships scheduled 13 to 27 November in Spain.

Located 50 kilometers north from the Valencian city of Alicante, La Nucia will host the slugfest for fighters 19 years and under with competitions taking place at the Ciudad Deportiva Camilo Cano.

The final roster will be finalized soon with the ABAP confirming entries in the 48 kg, 51 kg. 54 kg, 57 kg, 60 kg and 63.5 kg.

Ronel Suyom and Jay Bryan Baricuatro will contest the slot in the 48 kg while John Wayne Vicera and Raymond Lofranco will slug it out for the 51 kg berth, the ABAP said.

The rest of the squad is made up of Eljay Pamisa (54 kg), John Paul Napoles (57 kg), Crisaldy Beltran (60 kg) and Mark Ashley Fajardo (63.5 kg).

Elias Recaido and Elmer Pamisa are handling the training of the young punchers but Australian Don Abnett remains on top of the overall preparation.
