Norwegian ‘pedo’, Chinese scammer fall

The Bureau of Immigration reported that its operatives arrested a Norwegian pedophile who was accused of sexually molesting minors in his country and a Chinese national who is wanted for running a pyramid investment scam.

BI commissioner Norman Tansingco identified the two suspects as Karstein Kvernvik a.k.a. Krokaa Karstein Gunnar, a Norwegian national, and Fu QiHao a Chinese national.

The agency disclosed that Kvernvik was arrested at his residence in Sameerah Subdivision., Angeles City, Pampanga, while Fu was arrested in Malate, Manila in separate operations conducted by BI Fugitive Search Unit operatives.

Tansingco said that an arrest warrant was issued against Fu by the Public Security Bureau in Shanghai, China for allegedly running an investment pyramid scam that victimized many of his compatriots.

Kvenvik, on the other hand, is a high profile fugitive who is charged with multiple sex-related crimes in Norway. Information obtained from the Interpol’s National Central Bureau in Manila revealed that Kvenvik has outstanding warrants of arrest issued by the Salten and Lotofen District Court in Norway on 20 June 2022.

Both Kernvik and Fu were detained at the BI warden facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig, pending their deportation proceedings, and their names are also included in the Immigration Blacklist for them to be barred from re-entering the country once they have been deported.
