The Bureau of Customs reported that the BoC Port of Clark and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested the claimant of a parcel containing illegal drugs with a street value of P858,500.
According to BoC officials, the illegal drugs were discovered in a shipment which was declared as “beads in a bottle” and arrived in the country on 30 September 2022 from Hoofddorp, Netherlands.
The parcel was marked for physical examination as it showed a suspicious image and inspections resulted to the discovery of three plastic jars containing 505 pieces of pink and gray tablets, suspected to be ecstasy.
The tablets underwent a field test which yielded a positive result for the presence of “Mixture of MDMA Cotton, a controlled substance Amphetamine.”
Another sample was also taken to the PDEA for chemical laboratory analysis, which confirmed that the sample was positive for Methylenedioxymethamphetamine, a dangerous drug under Republic Act 9165, also known as Ecstasy.
BoC-Clark district collector Alexandra Lumontad immediately issued a warrant of seizure and detention for violation of Sections 118 (g), 119 (d), and 1113 par. f, i and l (3 and 4) of RA 10863 in relation to Section 4 of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
