Interior Secretary Benjamin Abalos on Monday bared that he tested positive for Covid-19 even as he warned all of his close contacts to take appropriate action to prevent the disease from spreading further.
Among those he had close contact with on Sunday was former senator Leila de Lima whom she visited following a hostage drama at Camp Crame. He also joined Philippine National Police chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. and Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna in a press conference.
Abalos was tested prior to a scheduled meeting at Malacañang Monday. His RT-PCR test came out at 9:12 p.m. Sunday night.
“I would like to inform the public that I have tested positive for Covid-19. I am currently at home in isolation and working remotely while strictly following recommended protocols, including health and safety procedures. I am grateful to have been fully vaccinated with booster. I am asymptomatic and feeling well as of the moment,” Abalos said.
