Maguindanao halal meat hub seen

ZAMBOANGA CITY — The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao — through the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform — is set to construct a P15-million Halal Meat Hub in two progressive towns in Maguindanao.

BARMM-MAFAR Minister Mohammad Yacob said that his ministry will construct a halal meat hub in Barangay Madia in Datu Saudi Ampatuan town and Barangay Sambolawan in Datu Salibo town.

The construction of the halal meat hub was contracted to Carlson Construction and Supply and the construction is expected to be completed within 150 days or on or before 3 March 2023.

Yacob said that the projects will benefit the Youth and Women Producers Cooperative and Uton Farmers Agri-Business Marketing Cooperative in the two towns. He also explained that the project has a Halal Meat Processing and Training Center worth P3.5 million and an Integrated Halal Slaughterhouse worth P4 million, which can cater to 50 heads of animals per day.
