It’s all about rightsizing, PBBM says

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Friday said his Cabinet will “solidify” soon as the government pushes on with its rightsizing policy.

“Because we are still in transition. We talked about rightsizing all the time,” Marcos told reporters when asked why lawyer Cheloy Garafil was only appointed as officer-in-charge of the Office of the Press Secretary and not a Cabinet Secretary.

“We’re rightsizing everything, everywhere all the time and this is part of that,” he added.

Marcos noted that he is restrained from appointing new Cabinet members as his administration is still transitioning more than three months since he assumed office.

“I still feel we are still in transition. But nagso-solidify na ‘yan, ‘yang mga position na ‘yan,” he said.

Last week, the President said he will name the new Press Secretary following the resignation of lawyer-vlogger Trixie Cruz Angeles on 4 October.

Marcos said he is considering three personalities, who are media practitioners.

Meanwhile, Garafil earlier expressed that she does not mind not being offered the Press chief position.

The journalist-turned-lawyer said regardless of her position, she is always ready to help the government.
