What exactly does a presidential adviser on creative communications do?
That was the tweet by Makabayan party list member Teddy Casiño on 17 October, the same day Malacañang announced the appointment of filmmaker/producer Paul Soriano as President Bongbong Marcos’ adviser on creative communications.
To which Philippine Ambassador to the United Kingdom Teddy Boy Locsin asked, “Why?”
Casiño then explained: “Because I’ve never heard of the post. I want to know the job description. I heard it’s Salary Grade 31 or at least P273k a month. Want to know exactly what we’re paying for.”
Soriano and his wife, showbiz personality Toni Gonzaga, were major players in Marcos’ presidential campaign in the 9 May elections.
Soriano directed Marcos’ TV commercials for the elections and his campaign rallies.
He is a nephew of First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos.
