First Lady dines with Chinese envoy

First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos has once again met with Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian, she posted on her official social media page.

The President’s wife published a photo of her lunch meeting with the Chinese envoy, who was accompanied by two people, in Makati City on Saturday.

While Malacañang has yet to release details of their meeting, Huang said he is grateful for Araneta-Marcos’s invitation for a lunch meeting.

“It was a great pleasure to have luncheon with First Lady Liza Marcos yesterday,” Huang wrote in a social media post.

This was not the first time that Araneta-Marcos invited Huang for a meeting as last August, she hosted a luncheon for Huang and gave him a tour of the Malacañang Palace.

Their meeting took place days after the Chinese diplomat met with Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri, who claimed that Huang reported that the Philippines is part of the blacklisted tourist spots for Chinese people due to its continuous POGO operations.

The Chinese Embassy in Manila, however, denied that Huang made such statements.

Zubiri, on the other hand, was firm on his claims.
