Food and beverages were one of the most affected industries by the global health pandemic.
Nearly three years after the virus hit and with the Covid “endemic” in sight, the industry is showing aggressive signs of recovery.
In a Monday interview on Gising Na!, a multi-platform show of the Daily Tribune, Ronald Lim, President and CEO of Pacific Concord Properties Inc., said the company’s F&B business is starting to pick up.
“When the pandemic came, all the hotels were affected, including their restaurants so I decided to close our F&B business supplying food to hotels. The people are still recovering from the pandemic and spending extra cash on meals outside is still difficult for many,” he said.
“So right now, I made sure to offer good food that gives customers their value for money through a tie-up with Lancaster,” he added.
Lim said the company’s F&B business specializing in Filipino buffet food service is located on the ground floor of the Lancaster Hotel in Mandaluyong City.
By November, he said the company will open three new buffet restaurants.
PCPI has tapped Bariotik Kitchen and Garden, a Pampanga -based food supplier, to open a buffet restaurant offering Kapampangan food.
According to Lim, the company intends to bring Kapampangan food nearer to Metro Manila customers.
New building
Apart from this, he said PCPI is planning to launch another Lancaster building by early next year. It will be a mixed-used building primarily to cater to the needs of Filipinos abroad and from the provinces visiting Metro Manila.
“Based on our discussions with a marketing group, we noticed that people from the provinces and OFWs frequently visit Metro Manila. Since they do not have a permanent address here, they need to rent out units. So now, they can use Lancaster units as a facility,” he said.
PCPI is the main proponent of The Lancaster Suites, Lancaster Atrium, and Lancaster Cebu. It was organized to develop Condominium-Hotel Properties that respond to the high demand for Serviced Apartment and Hotel units in key cities.
