Shocking but amusing: Two women linked to Justin Bieber had themselves photographed together.
The Canadian pop superstar’s ex, Selena Gomez, and his wife, Hailey Baldwin-Bieber, had their picture taken at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures’ 2nd annual gala on 15 October in Los Angeles.
Bieber was not present at the event.
The snapshots, taken by Tyrell Hampton, put an end to talk that there’s bad blood between Gomez and Baldwin.
Hampton posted the photos on Instagram with the caption: “Plot twist.”
Bieber and Gomez broke up in 2015, after which he started dating Baldwin.
In 2018, Bieber and Baldwin split up, only for Bieber to briefly get back with Gomez.
However, Bieber and Baldwin dated again in June 2018 and married in September that year.
In 2019, Bieber and Baldwin got married for the second time.
Sign of ‘closeness’
In Hampton’s photos, the two ladies were all smiles, with one shot showing Gomez’s hand on Baldwin’s belly.
In another shot, Gomez rested her hand on Baldwin’s leg, which people interpreted as a sign of “closeness.”
Baldwin talked about the encounter on the Call Her Daddy podcast: “It’s all respect. It’s all love. That’s also why I feel like, well, if everybody on our side knows what happened and we’re good and we can walk away from it with clarity and respect, then that’s fine! That brought me a lot of peace. We know what happened. It is what it is. You’re never going to be able to correct every narrative.”
Meanwhile, Gomez spoke to fans via Instagram: “I think some of the things I don’t need to be aware of are just vile and disgusting, and it’s not fair because no one should ever be spoken to in the manner that I’ve seen.
And all I have to say is it’s incredibly ironic that I would release something that is all about kind words because that’s exactly what I want — that’s it.”
