OhMyV33nus keeps hopes high

Blacklist International team captain Johnmar “OhMyV33nus” Villaluna is confident that they will make it to the upper bracket semifinals of the Mobile Legends Professional League Season 10 Playoffs.

Blacklist, a two-time MPL champion and M3 Mobile Legends world champion, is scheduled to face the winner between Bren Esports and Omega Esports on the opening day of the Playoffs on 20 October.

OhMyV33nus said Omega Esports has yet to beat Bren Esports this season so he is looking forward to facing it in the Playoffs.

“Omega Esports has yet to beat Bren Esports (this season) so I am looking forward to Omega stepping it up and showing that they are a poison during Playoffs,” OhMyV33nus stressed.

“I think it would be a good match, but for me whoever wins, we are confident we can overcome.”

The OhmMyV33nus-led Blacklist tasted defeat just once in the regular season of Seasons 7 and 8. But without the dynamic duo of OhMyV33nus and Danerie James “Wise” Del Rosario in Season 9,
Blacklist failed to even qualify for the Playoffs.

With the real-life couple back in the roster for Season 10, Blacklist found itself again as the top seed of the regular season but with one glaring exception: It lost a total of five matches as it registered a standing of 9-5 with 29 points.

As sideliners pointed out that Blacklist International does not look the same after the VeeWise duo opted to take a break, OhMyV33nus explained that it is hard to repeat their previous success as he feels that Season 10 is the most difficult yet in MPL history.

“I do not believe that there is that one team that could maintain what they have been doing. Since we dominated Seasons 7 and 8, people were thinking we would do the same in Season 10,” OhMyV33nus, a two-time MPL champion and Southeast Asian Games gold medalist, said.
