Bataan, Zambales farmer coops undergo training

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT — The Department of Agriculture in Central Luzon recently conducted a three-day training to various Farmers’ Cooperative and Associations from the provinces of Bataan and Zambales at the Venezia Hotel here.

The DA said that the training is in line with preparing the farmers for the Project Proposal, Business Plan, and Cluster Development Plan.

The training is under the Farm and Fisheries Clustering and Consolidation Program, an administrative order created for farmers and fishers.

The aim of the training is to increase the number of production, increase revenues and provide a better path towards resources, technology and market. It also eyes forming a better synergy between the producers at the farm and the market.

The F2C2 will help the government attain economies of scale and enable more farmers, fishers, and agriculture entrepreneurs to produce and earn more from their toil.

Through the F2C2 program, the government aims to channel assistance such as credit, modern production methods, farm machinery, post-harvest and program facilities, transport and logistics,
packaging support, as well as information and communication technologies, to farm and fishery clusters.

The DA, through its Agricultural Policy and Credit Council will also provide farm clusters credit financing.
