Core pieces for timeless style

On the first day of its reopening at Greenbelt 3, Jimmy Choo footwear practically flew off the shelves. Observers noted that “it was just the first day of opening and the sales turnout was unexpected.”

Jimmy Choo first landed in Manila 10 years ago. Its Greenbelt 4 store served shoe and bag lovers from April 2012 to 2017. A reorganization of the brand’s retailer SSI Group led to a move from Greenbelt to Shangri-La Plaza. An opportunity came with the redesign of Ayala’s Greenbelt, so SSI decided to bring back Jimmy Choo.

Glass walls all around make it easy to peek at the shelves which carry brand’s core collections (Pearl, Crystal, and JC Monogram) and latest releases.

Jimmy Choo is also known for its Bridal Core Collection. Two walls in the 69-sq.m. store are devoted to eyecatching footwear that are ideal for brides and their entourage, as well as red carpet looks. A pair of crystal studded pumps is a crowd favorite because of its appearance in a Korean drama, said to have “sparked a Jimmy Choo craze in China.”

Jimmy Choo certainly looks ready for the weddings that the pandemic put off for two years.

Initially introduced in 2021, Jimmy Choo’s Core collection “is a timeless edit that captures the creative essence of Jimmy Choo, as defined by three key categories: Pearl, Crystal and the JC Monogram.”
The Crystal collection has been so popular that Jimmy Choo decided to add more styles every season.

This year, the collection spotlights the Pearl pillar with the introduction of a signature fuchsia realized in satin across platforms and pumps, and pearl-encrusted shoulder straps.

“The Core collection is a meditation on the heritage and future of Jimmy Choo. It’s a collection of key pieces designed to be treasured but also constantly evolving to suit everyday life – whether that’s working, playing, dressing up or going places. I wanted this collection to add something to all of those moments, delivering that extra lift. For me the most important creative elements that define Jimmy Choo are light, fantasy and design expertise – these are realized in the three distinct identities that we will reinforce and nurture every season. The collection pinpoints the fundamental visual DNA of our brand. Our essence. It’s who we are,” said Sandra Choi, creative director.
