ECHO Proud emerged as the first-ever champion of the Mobile Legends Development League following a dominant win over GameLab this Sunday.
Spearheaded by M4 Mobile Legends world champion Jay Pee “Jaypee” Gonzalez, ECHO’s tier-two squad impressed throughout the series en route to a 3-1 victory.
“Sobrang saya sa feeling namin,” said Jaypee, who was named as the grand finals MVP.
“Gusto talaga namin makuha ang championship sa first season ng MDL Philippines kasi mahirap syang makalimutan. First MDL sa Pilipinas at kami ang nanalo,” he added.
ECHO Proud’s first MDL championship also meant that they will take the lion’s share of the $20,000 prize pool or roughly around 1.08 million pesos.
Furthermore, the match between ECHO Proud and GameLab recorded a peak concurrent viewership of more than 32,000 views.
