Former president Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday met with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at Malacañang Palace, Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go said in a Facebook post.
Go, who served as a former Special Assistant to the President or SAP during the early years of the Duterte administration, accompanied the latter during the meeting.
“(We) also met with Secretary Anton Lagdameo, who is currently the SAP of President Marcos,” Go said. Lagdameo is a Floirendo scion of Davao City.
Go added that then-president Duterte’s executive secretary Salvador Medialdea and his counterpart in the Marcos Jr. administration, Atty. Lucas Bersamin, were also in the meeting.
No details were provided about the meeting discussion, only photos of Duterte with a cane inside the Palace and other incumbent officials like Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra, who is former Justice Secretary, and Defense Secretary Gibo Teodoro.
This is the first time that the former president visited Malacañang since leaving office on 30 June 2022.
