2 Dura-dura Gang members arrested

Police arrested Monday night two male members of the Dura-Dura Gang after victimizing commuters in a passenger bus in Pasay City.

Based on a report by the Pasay City Police Station, the gang members use their saliva as modus in robbing their victims.

“But they told us they do not do that anymore. They now use a sprayer containing water mixed with fragrant scent to distract their victims. Another member will join in distracting the victim who will then be robbed of his belongings,” PCpt. Criz Antonio Cataluña, Substation 1 Commander ng Pasay City Police Station said.

He said two of their victims went to the police station to report the loss of their cellphones while aboard the bus.

“Somebody just spit on me. I reached for my alcohol because the saliva was so slimy,” one of the victims, Noel told police. “That’s when they probably was able to filch my bag. I got distracted.”

Police were able to track down the suspects along Taft Avenue using the victim’s cellphone tracker.

“They have a pre-arranged place to alight where their motorcycle (habal habal) is waiting for them regardless of whether they were able to successfully rob or not,” Cataluna said.

The suspects admitted to the crime, saying it is merely out of need. Recovered were the cellphone of the other victim while Noel’s cannot be found. He said he will continue to press charges.

The suspects face charges of theft while the rest of the gang members are still being chased.
