Manila LGU to provide free rides amid ‘tigil-pasada’

The City Government of Manila has vehicles ready to provide free rides on major routes today, 16 October, due to the “tigil-pasada” or transport strike.

There are 20 e-trikes, two mobile transport, three SUVs from the MDRRMO, two MPD transporters, and 16 MPD patrol vehicles that will assist stranded passengers.

According to MTPB, MDRRMO, and MMDA, most public utility vehicles are currently operating, based on the target routes being monitored: San Juan – Divisoria, Blumentrit – Novaliches, Nagtahan – Paco, Divisoria – Cubao, Morayta – Divisoria, and Balic-Balic – Quiapo.

The MDRRMO and MTPB teams have set up their incident command post near the Kartilya ng Katipunan.

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna will monitor the operations from the command post after the flag-raising ceremony.
