LEGAZPI CITY — Authorities reported that at least P3 million worth of illegal drugs were seized during a buy-bust operation in an Albay town on Friday morning, the Police Regional Office-Bicol said.
In a report, Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib, PRO-5 spokesperson, said a total of 350 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P2.38 million and 130 grams of cocaine with a street value of P689,000 were recovered during the operation.
“The buy-bust operation Friday at Barangay Ubaliw, Polangui town in Albay resulted in the arrest of alias Jorge, alias Rod, and a minor, all residents of Bethlehem St, Barangay San Isidro, Paranaque City. They were arrested while selling 50 grams of shabu to a police undercover,” Calubaquib said.
She added that another 300 grams of shabu and 130 grams of cocaine were seized from the suspects during the body search conducted by the operatives.
“All seized pieces of evidence were marked and documented in the presence of a mandatory witness and brought to Polangui municipal police station for proper handling and disposition,” Calubaquib said. “The minor involved will be transferred to the Department of Social Welfare and Development to undergo the necessary legal procedures.”
