P4.1B released for poor

The government has released the Special Allotment Release Order (SARO) worth P4.1 billion for the most vulnerable households, a Cabinet official said on Tuesday.

“This is good news, especially for the most vulnerable households, who will be the beneficiaries of the second tranche of the Targeted Cash Transfer (TCT) Program. We want them to know and feel that their government is here for them. We are ready to help them,” Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman said.

The DBM has approved the SARO to help mitigate the impact of inflation, especially on the most vulnerable households through the TCT program.

The budget allotment will cover the second tranche requirements for the implementation of the TCT Program. It is expected to benefit over four million beneficiaries.

Its immediate release was requested by the Department of Finance to help mitigate the impact of inflation in our economy.
