The police suspect in the alleged rape in the city of Las Piñas voluntarily surrendered to his fellow police, Tuesday afternoon.
Based on the received report, the incident transpired on 1 August 2022 at about 9:30 at Pasig View Lodge Wow Motel on Buenaventura St., Brgy. Bagong Ilog.
The victim went to Pasig City Police to report the alleged rape incident and filed an appropriate complaint against the suspect, who was later dentified as PCpl. Mario Maramag Caliguiran (41), member of Pasig City Police.
Acting upon the report, at about 2:37 pm, suspect voluntarily surrendered to PLt. Jazon G Lovendino, OIC, Sub Station 2.
Suspect was then brought to Pasig Police, where he is currently under detention for investigation while the victim was brought to PNP Forensic Unit at Camp Crame, Quezon City for Medico-Legal, Genital Examinations.
“As one of the reputable organization and law enforcement institutions, NCRPO will not tolerate such undesirable acts of its members. Rest-assured that the suspect will be punished accordingly if he will be found guilty of the said allegations,” NCRPO PMGen. Felipe R Natividad said.
