ZAMBOANGA CITY — Separate anti-illegal drug operations in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) resulted in the arrest of four individuals and the recovery of suspected shabu worth P700,000.
Police Regional Office for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PRO-BAR) director Pol. Brig Gen Arthur Cabalona disclosed that operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized about 103 grams of shabu in sting operations conducted at Talayan, Maguindanao and Bongao in Tawi-Tawi province.
Cabalona said the PDEA agents backed by police and military operatives conducted a buy-bust operation along the National Highways of Barangay Poblacion in Talayan, Maguindanao and was able to arrest Londi Mari Ampao, listed as high valued target of PDEA.
Another team of PDEA agents and soldiers also conducted a similar activity at Barangay Pag-Asa in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi and arrested drug peddlers Rosalino Balasing Israil, Recto Dalimanis Lukatsaro, and Alnasir Kirah Sahirin, all residents of Bongao.
The two teams confiscated and nine transparent plastic sachets all containing suspected shabu with a combined total of P700,000.
The arrested suspects were brought and detained at a police detention cell in their respective towns pending the filing of cases against them in court for violation of Republic Act 9165 known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
