Prosperity and sustainability are two very different words that can spark hope, signaling a bright future.
Prosperity is the theme of Conrad Manila’s Mid-Autumn Festival.
In line with its Travel With Purpose advocacy, the hotel awarded six Filipinos as “Champions of Sustainability.”
They are entrepreneur Ana Patricia Non, founder of the Community Pantry in Maginhawa, Quezon City, which gave birth to a movement; journalist Joanne Ramirez for her recognitions from various award-giving bodies that steer sustainable economic growth; Ormoc City Mayor Lucy Torres-Gomez for her initiatives such as House Bill 7229, Banaue Rice Terraces restoration and preservation, 6200, Mission Possible Project of Leyte IV, among others; conservationist Ann Dumaliang a managing trustee at Masungi Georeserve who contributes to the foundation as well as advocates for geo-tourism; Liter of Light Foundation founder Illac Diaz who pushes for sustainable energy through his non-government organization; and artist Leeroy New for incorporating waste from everyday materials into his works.
“We celebrate this festival to highlight Philippine culture. We could not have achieved our joyful prosperity without the inspiration of industry and community leaders. Six Champions of Sustainability (represent) Conrad Manila’s six years of prosperous operations,” Conrad Manila general manager Linda Pecoraro said at the hybrid awarding ceremony last 22 July.
Conrad Manila also unveiled this year’s Mid-Autumn Prosperity handcrafted bags.
